国家的プロジェクトのひとつに、日本のデジタルアートの気鋭チームラボが選ばれた。プロジェクションマッピングなど高度なテクノロジーを駆使し独創的なアート世界を展開するチームラボは、世界的にも高い評価を得る。 今回のアブダビからの依頼は、総床面積17000平方メートルにも及ぶチームラボ史上最大級のプロジェクト。

Finally! teamLab is opening a permanent immersive art museum in Kyoto
Called teamLab Biovortex Kyoto, this immersive art space is part of a new creative hub within the Kyoto Station Southeast Area Project. The pieces are made of materials you wouldn’t normally expect in conventional art, and in typical teamLab fashion, you can literally step into the installations.

チームラボ バイオヴォルテックス 京都の建物は、大成建設の設計・施工で建設が進んでいる。南区は京都駅から近いが集客力がある観光施設は少なく、訪れる人は限られていた。チームラボの南区進出が街の発展に寄与することが期待される。

チームラボ、京都に美術館 今秋オープン
先端技術を駆使し、国際的に活躍するアート集団「チームラボ」は27日、作品を常設展示する美術館「チームラボ バイオヴォルテックス 京都」を今秋、京都市南区に新たにオープンすると発表した。美術館は京都駅東南部の市有地を活用。光と音や映像に満ちた、空間没入型の作品を設置する。
